About this venue
The National Prison Museum in Veenhuizen — on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 2021 — offers The Escape not as a standalone escape room but as a group package of around three hours, set up together with Actief Veenhuizen. You're first sentenced in a recreated courtroom, then a guard takes you to the House of Detention in De Rode Pannen: a real former cell complex, where you must crack codes with fellow prisoners to escape before the sentence is carried out. The package also includes a tour of the 'State Hotel' and on Sundays rides in original police buses.
