Escaperoom Torenlaan was a small, independent escape room with one room at Torenlaan 16, just near the centre of Assen. The sole room, Catweazle, revolved around time travel: in a vintage 1930s room, players solved tasks around time and time differences, inspired by the time-travelling wizard from the cult TV series Catweazle. With a price of €15 per person and open from age 6, the venue clearly aimed at families. During the COVID-19 pandemic the room closed 'until further notice' and never reopened; for years the website remained online with that frozen closure message, but recently the domain itself has gone offline. Reviews are scarce — the venue never accumulated enough ratings in five years for a score on any platform.
